Abstract

Restoration of deep carious lesions in primary molars frequently poses dilemmas. Indirect Pulp Treatment (IPT) has been defined as the incomplete removal of carious dentin and treatment with a biocompatible material.
IPT was done to 52 children with healthy pulp or with reversible pulpitis, having 88 carious primary molars (44 with Dycal and 44 with Vitrebond ) aged from 4-8 years.
Results: Clinical, radiographic and overall success was comparable and was noted in 34 cases (89.5%) of Dycal group and in 34 cases (97.1%) in Vitrebond group, without statistically significant difference between both groups.
Conclusions: Vitrebond was more successful than Dycal in IPT over 1 year, clinically and radiographically.
