The problem of housing is one of the biggest and most important contemporary problems in the whole world and in Egypt in particular. Despite the multiple policies adopted by the state to overcome them, the problem still exists, therefore, the research put forward the approach of urban intensification, which has been addressed in the strategic plans, but not fully activated in Executive reality. where the intensification of urban, whether horizontal or vertical automatically by the population itself by the work of vertical or horizontal extensions to try to make the housing appropriate to the actual needs of the population, and this is the aim of the research aims to put a sustainable system to activate the policies of urban intensification in the operational reality after the presentation of all theoretical studies that prove The extent to which urban intensification is economically, urban, socially and environmentally appropriate and how urban intensification can meet the requirements of sustainable housing development. The research follows the theoretical approach, through which the theoretical studies are presented that dealt with the intellectual principles that crystallized the thought of urban intensification and its most important objectives and patterns. Successful and utilized in the Egyptian reality to come up with a preliminary vision of the proposed system and then tested by experts, specialists and population and developed to develop it in the final form.
