Abstract Magnet designation attributes create work environments producing high quality care also, effectively attract and retain nursing staff this keeping a good level of quality of work life for nurses. Aim: The study aimed to explore the relationship between the magnet attributes and the quality of work life among nurses at El-Zhour hospital in Port-said city. Subjects and methods: a descriptive correlational research design was utilized. All staff nurses with total number (110) were recruited from different departments. Tools of data collection: Magnetism Questionnaire was used to assess the extent of presence magnetism attributes, and quality of work life questionnaire to assess the nurse’s quality of work life level. Results: 60.9 % of staff nurses had a positive perception of magnet attributes and 57.3% of them had high quality of work life. There was a statistical significant difference between the magnet attributes and ”the work department and age”, and between the quality of work life and work department. Conclusion: There was a statistically significant positive association between magnet attributes and quality of work life among staff nurses. Therefore, it is recommended that hospital pay more attention to nurses’ quality of work life and magnet attributes domains, and further researches are needed to identify the contributing factors for both. |
