Abstract Acute chest pain is the primary reason of hospital admission worldwide. ACS is one of most serious causes. It includes UA, NSTEMI, and STEMI. It is essential to decide whether a patient with acute chest pain is suffering from AMI without delay. In general, AMI diagnosis is based on patient’s medical history, presenting symptoms and signs, ECG and laboratory biomarkers. As for ECG, regardless being an important basis for the diagnosis of AMI, yet it can’t differentiate between UA and NSTEMI. Additionally, some NSTEACS patients have no ECG manifestations. On the contrary, laboratory markers are more favored. The most reliable biomarkers are cTn and CK-MB, although their applicability can be flawed, due to their modest elevation at early stages of ischemia. |
