Abstract

The present study was design to investigate the adverse effects of dexibuprofen and protective effect of Vit. E and to show the result of combination between dexibuprofen and Vit. E on hepatic and renal functions.
Experimental design:
After one week of administration 80 albino rats randomly allocated into 4 equal groups, each of 20 rats.
The 1st group:
Rats in this group were not medicated and left as control and received saline (0.9%) NCl as a vehicle.
The 2nd group:
Rats in this group given repeated oral doses of dexibuprofen (7.2 mg/kg b.wt) once daily for successive 21 days.
The 3rd group:
Rats in this group given repeated oral doses of Vit. E (18 mg/kg b.wt) once daily for successive 21 days.
The 4th group:
Rats in this group received a combination of Vit. E (18 mg/kg b.wt) once daily with dexibuprofen (7.2 mg/kg b.wt) once daily for successive 21 days.
