Abstract

A.Pilot study:
To determine the dose level that induced detrimental effect on rats.
Sixty rats were randomly divided into six equal experimental groups; each of 10 as follows: five groups were administered subcutaneously a single injection with 10, 25, 50, 75, and 100 mg/kg bw Tilmicosin, while the control group was subcutaneously treated with physiological saline (NaCl 0.9%) as a vehicle.
Following Tilmicosin injection, no mortalities or adverse clinical signs were observed in the control group and Tilmicosin-treated animals at 10 mg, 25 mg and 50 mg/kg bw Tilmicosin dose levels. On the other hand, mortalities were recorded among the animals received 75mg and 100 mg/kg bw Tilmicosin in a percentage of 20% and 50%, respectively
B. Moringa Oleifera ethanolic extract potency in reversing Tilmicosin- induced cardiotoxicity
Sixty rats were randomly divided into six equal experimental groups; each of 10 as follows: The control group was subcutaneously treated with physiological saline (NaCl 0.9%) as a vehicle. Moringa leaves ethanolic extract group (low dose) (MO-L), rats in this group were administered moringa leaves ethanolic extract orally once daily for 7 days via gastric.
