Abstract Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of nursing intervention protocol in reducing hemodynamic complications among patients undergoing hemodialysis. Design: A quasi-experimental research design was used. Sample: A purposive sample of 60 adult patients undergoing Hemodialysis aged 18 years or more from both genders. Setting: Data were collected from dialysis Units at Fayoum General Hospital. Tools: Four tools were used for data collection (I) Patient’s Socio Demographic and Health Relevant Information, which included (a) Socio Demographic Data, (b) Health Relevant Information sheet, (2) Knowledge Assessment questionnaire, (3) Observational Check List. Results: This study revealed that there was significant difference in decrease patient’s hemodynamic complications among patients undergoing hemodialysis after implamentation the nursing intervention program. Conclusion: It can be concluded that nursing intervention protocol had a positive effect on the incidence rate of hemodynamic complications among patients undergoing hemodialysis. No improvements could be noticed among the control group throughout the study phases. Recommendation: The study recommended that special attention should be given to patient education, with emphasis on helping patients to take an active role in their own care implementation of the designed nursing intervention protocol in similar settings. |
