The Internet Addiction and its relation to some Behavioral Problems in a sample of University students.
The aims of the present thesis are represented to determine the relationship between the Internet Addiction and some of the Behavioral Problems? - To determine differences between males and females’ degrees in the Internet Addiction Is attributed to the effect of the variable gender (male-female)? - To determine differences between males and females in the Internet Addiction on the Behavioral Problems (”Oppositional Defiant Disorder” – ”Sleep Disorder Scale ”SDS”” - ”Eating Disorder”) Is attributed to the effect of the variable gender (male-female)?. And the sample of the thesis was (400) participants from Internet addicts. The sample consisted of (200 students and 200 female students) on an equal footing.
And the Tools of the thesis was
1- The Internet Addiction Test. Prepared by Spelperger et, al., the Arabic copy prepared by Dr. Heba Bhy El Din Rabee.
2- The Oppositional Defiant Disorder Scale. Prepared by: Dr. Magdy Mohamed El Desouki.
3- The Sleep Disorder Scale ”S D S” Prepared by Dr. Bushra Ismail.
4- The Eating Disorder Scale Prepared by Line Marshall, the Arabic copy prepared by Dr. Zainab Mahmoud Shuqair.
The Results:
The present study resulted in:
1 - There is a statistically significant correlation between the scores of the sample individuals on the Internet addiction scale and their scores on the Oppositional Defiant Disorder scale, and the Sleep Disorder scale, and the Eating Disorder scale.
