Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to study the engineering properties, engineering behavior of expansive soil founded in Egyptian desert surrounding Cairo city. Comparison between the studied soils and expansive soil in Nile-Valley was carried out. The two empirical formulas correlate of swell reduction ratio and replacement layer thickness were determined. This chapter summarizes the main conclusions of this work. Recommendations for future studies are also given.
