Abstract Academic civility positively impacts faculty and students’ well being, self confidence, strengthens professional relationships, and enhances effective teaching and learning environment. Aim: The study aimed to explore the relation between civility and self efficacy among nursing students. Subject and method: the study was conducted at faculty of nursing, Port Said University using a descriptive correlational research design; all nursing students from the four undergraduate academic years were enclosed in the study, with total number 363 students. Two tools were used namely the civility behavior questionnaire sheet and the perceived self efficacy scale. Results, collectively, 62.5% of the nursing students had civility behavior, as well more than three quarters of nursing students had high perception of self efficacy ranging between 66.1% for social and 86.0% for academic self efficacy. The study concluded, the civility score is a positive predictor of total self efficacy score. Therefore, the study recommended that, the faculty should pay to civility as a core ethical value that informs interpersonal interactions and supports social justice and engagement. |
