Abstract

The Canopic jars ware is an essential part of the funeral furniture. The ancient Egyptian keenness on it since the ancient tims and its name is due to the Osir Canopus(Abo Kir). Although the ancient Egyptian name for the Canopic jars ware kbw in wit. Jean-Francois Champollion was the first to know at the understanding and knowledge of Canopic vessels in 1812. Canopic jars were made of different materials such as limestone, alabaster, pottery, veneers, wood, and sandstone. It is made entirely of one type and sometimes it is made of two materials, such as the jar of the material and the lid of another material. Each jar was devoted to a specific part of the human body and was associated with the sons of Horus Amsti, Hapi, Doamutef, and Qabahsnowef. The Thesis dealt briefly with Theban Necropolis through the ages, although it was concentrated on the Third Intermediate Period where there was no place dedicated in that era and no particular form as was the cowardice in previous times. where reused the former cemeteries of this era. Such as the Ramessium, the Temple of ”Amenhotep II” and the Temple of Madnat Habu. Then the phases of the Canopic jars and its evolution and the relationship of the sons of Horus. In the third and last chapter was allocated to monitor 140 Canopus from that period were found in the Theban Necropolis was monitored and described each jar and writ if it was texts and translated.
