Abstract

The aim of the present study was to clinically evaluate toothpaste containing 8% arginine, calcium carbonate, and sodium mono-fluoro-phosphate, in comparison to toothpaste, containing 8% strontium acetate and sodium fluoride on the relief of DH in chronic periodontitis patients.
II. Research question:
In chronic periodontitis patients with hypersensitive area on facial surfaces of the teeth, will mechanical debridement followed by the daily use of a toothpaste containing 8 % arginine and calcium carbonate, yield better patient perception of pain relief than the use of toothpaste containing 8% strontium acetate in a randomized controlled clinical trial.
III. PICO:
P: Population: Patients with slight to Moderate chronic periodontitis, patients
with dentin hypersensitivity.
I: Intervention: Mechanical debridement and daily brushing with toothpaste
containing 8 % arginine, calcium carbonate.
C: Comparator: Mechanical debridement and daily brushing with toothpaste
containing 8%
