Abstract This thesis aims to utilizing Mach-Zehnder interferometer, digital holographic, Laser diffraction patterns and computed tomography techniques to determine the opto-mechanical, structure, geometrical and morphological properties of iPP/TiO¬2¬¬¬ nanocomposites fibres. This work provides researchers with some information that contribute to the development of nanoparticles field. The thesis consists of four chapters,Chapter 1 includes a general introduction with a review of the previous works dedicated to iPP/TiO2 nanocomposites fibres. Moreover, it introduces the description of the experimental techniques and theoretical considerations of these techniques. In chapter 2, Mach–Zehnder interferometer was used to assess the changes in the opto-mechanical and geometrical parameters of iPP/TiO2 nanocomposite fibres along the fibre axis. In chapter 3, the rotation band pass filter approach, autofocusing approach and other approaches were used to overcome the error sources that accompaniments the in-situ investigation of opto-mechanical properties of nanocomposites fibres. In chapter 4, computed tomographic scans of the doped fibres are carried out to reveal the presence of localised optical defects. |
