Abstract

Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a new generation concrete that consolidates without any external effort. Due to its advantages over the conventional concrete, the usage of SCC increases day by day. Nowadays, self-compacting concrete is used in reinforced concrete structure with heavy bars. This type of concrete is widely accepted throughout the world.
Self-compacting concrete is an innovative concrete that does not require vibration for placing or compaction. It is able to flow under its own weight, completely filling formwork and achieving full compaction, even in the presence of congested reinforcement.
One of the disadvantages of self-compacting concrete is its cost, associated
with the use of high volumes of Portland cement and useful chemical admixtures,
so we replacement self compact concrete with self -compacting geoplymer concrete ( SCGC) which is an inorganic material formed by alkaline activation of aluminia and silica-containing material through a poly condensation process, could be synthesized from various industrial by-products, such as fly ash and furnace slag, with high compressive strength, low shrinkage, and other engineering properties. This renders geopolymer a prospective future in civil engineering applications.
