Abstract Infertility is frequently caused by an ovulation. The affected women present with irregular menstrual cycles and the most common diagnosis is polycystic ovarian syndrome. Ovulation induction is commonly used to treat these women Clomiphene citrate remains the most used medication for treating these condition. Other alternative drugs could be used as tamoxifen, aromatase inhibitors, insulin sensitizing agents and ovarian drilling In our study, we tried to compare the effect of Clomiphene citrate (C.C), letrozole and TMX on the endometrium, number of follicles and clinical pregnancy rate in anovulatory patient with PCOS. Study was done on 100 infertile women who are already diagnosed as an ovulatory infertility dividing into three groups whom including the inclusion criteria spically an0ovulatory PCO with Rotterdam consensus in three consecutive cycles. group A: This group included 34 patients who are under ovulation induction with clomiphene citrate. Patients took 100 mg of CC daily for 5 days starting from day 2 to day 6 of cycle. Each tablet of the drug is 50 mg. So, patients took the dose in form of 2 tablets all together after breakfast for three cycles (Elkhateeb et al., 2016). group B: This group included 33 patients who are under ovulation induction with letrozole. Patients took 5 mg of the drug daily for 5 days, starting from day 2 to day 6 of the cycle; each tablet of the drug is 2.5 mg. So, patients took the dose in form of 2 tablets all together after breakfast for three cycles (Elkhateeb etal., 2016). group C: This group included 33 patients who are under ovulation induction with tamoxifen. Patients took 40 mg of the drug daily for 5 days starting from day 2 to day 6 of the cycle. Each tablet of the drug is 20 mg. So, patients took the dose in form of 2 tablets all together after breakfast for three cycles (Elkhateeb et al., 2016). |
