Abstract approach for caring of patients with a goal of decreasing length of stay without negatively outcomes. Aim: to assess the clinical pathways of postoperative nursing care for women undergoing caesarean section. Subjects and methods: the study was conducted in obstetric and gynecologic department at Mansoura University Hospital. on total number of 152 women had undergoing Cesarean Section operation using descriptive design. The tools used for data collection consisted of; structured interviewed questionnaire, physical examination and investigation and pathway checklist with the main outcome. Results: About two thirds of the studied women (57.2%) delayed initiation of breast feeding. The incidence of urine retention was (0.7 %), sub-involution of the uterus, vaginal bleeding (2.6), breast problems (5.2 %). women’s satisfaction related to clinical pathway nursing management mostly un satisfied. Conclusion: Clinical pathway management doesn’t apply properly post cesarean Section leads to poor outcome and incidence postoperative complications Also; women were mostly un-satisfied with the care provided. Recommendation; the concept of clinical pathways should be applied in CS operations to improve women outcome and reduce postoperative complications. |
