Abstract

Academic stress has become part of students‟ academic life due to
the various internal and external expectations placed upon their
shoulders. Adolescents are particularly vulnerable to the problems
associated with academic stress as transitions occur at an individual and
social level. It, therefore, becomes imperative to understand the sources
and impact of academic stress in order to derive adequate and efficient
intervention strategies.
Stress in academic institutions can have positive and negative
results if they are not well managed. However, society has an important
role to play in educating and developing students to acquire knowledge
and skills in order to make them positively contribute to the development
of the nation differently.
However, university students suffer from different types of
academic pressure during their educational experiences. Therefore, one
should measure the academic guidance of the students seeking help to
draw the attention of university officials and help them to control the
stress factors of the students, which also helps in the development of
preferred ways to enable students to deal with this stress during their
studies.
University students are at great risk of increasing pressure. The
stress of the academic student and the limited social and personal time

can add tremendous stress to live and begin to affect the person
negatively. Moreover, the universities did not take clear steps to learn
and to cope with the serious psychological stress of the students during
their period of study.
