Measure The Effectiveness of Using Hendy`s Four-Stage Model (Hendy`s 4Cs Model) in the Teaching of Grammatical Rules in Developing Some Grammatical Skills, Attitudes Towards their Learning and Retention among Secondary Students.
Second: Research Methodology:
Research in its methodology depends on:
1) descriptive approach: in reviewing the theoretical framework, research and previous studies, and identifying the appropriate grammatical skills for students of the second year secondary level, and how to develop them.
2) Semi-experimental approach: The use of the model, and experience; to measure its effectiveness in the development of some grammar skills, and trends, and the survival of the impact of learning among students in the general secondary grade, by selecting the two groups of research (experimental and control).
Third: Research Tools and Materials:
The researcher used the following tools and materials:
1) List of appropriate grammatical skills for second year secondary students.
2) A chievement test to measure some grammar skills.
3) A measure attitudes to measure Students attitudes towards some grammar skills.
4) A Teacher’s guide to develop some grammatical skills according to (Hendy`s 4Cs Model).
5) Student worksheets to develop some grammatical skills according to (Hendy`s 4Cs Model).
Fourth: The research community and its sample:
The research community includes all grade two secondary school students in the schools of Beni Suef Educational Administration in Beni Suef governorate and the second semester of the academic year (2017/2018). The research sample was selected. The second secondary in Abu Bakr al-Siddiq secondary school in the village of Belafia, under the administration of Beni Suef educational, and the number of its members (30) students, while the researcher chose the members of the control group of students and students of the school of Belafia New School in the village of Belafia, (30) students. The total number of students in the current research sample reached (60) male and female grade two secondary students in both the experimental and the control groups.
Fifth: The theoretical framework of research:
The researcher presented the theoretical framework in two chapters:
Chapter One: The researcher discussed the research plan, including the research problem and its dimensions in terms of: determining the problem of research, its objectives, importance, limits, terms, methodology, tools, terminology, procedures, and general comment on the chapter.
Chapter Two: The researcher dealt with three axes as follows:
The first axis: theories of teaching and learning, and (Hendy`s 4Cs Model).
The second axis: the concept of grammatical skills, the objectives of teaching grammar and developing its skills, and the reality of its education.
The third axis: the concept of trends, their characteristics, factors affecting their composition, methods of measurement, and general comment on the chapter.
Sixth: Experimental Framework for Research:
The researcher presented the experimental framework in two chapters:
Chapter Three: The researcher tackled the field research procedures in terms of: research methodology, the research community and its design, the justification of the researcher’s choice of variables, the basics of using (Hendy`s 4Cs Model), research tools and materials, procedural design of research, search variables, , The difficulties faced by the researcher, the statistical methods used, and then a general comment on the chapter.
Chapter Four: The researcher examined the results of the research in terms of measuring the effectiveness of Hendy`s four-stage model (Hendy`s 4Cs Model) in the development of some grammar skills, and trends towards it, and the survival of the impact of learning in the grade two secondary school students, and discuss these results, and interpretation.
Seventh: Main Results:
The main results of the current research are:
1) There was statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) between the average scores of the experimental group students in the tribal and remote applications of the grammatical skills targeted for the benefit of the post application.
2) There was statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental and the control groups in the post-test of the grammatical skills targeted for the benefit of the experimental group.
3) There was no statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) between the average scores of the experimental group students in the post-application, and the deferred post-test.
4) There was statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) between the average scores of the experimental group students in the tribal applications, and the second on the trend scale, in favor of the post application.
Eighth: Recommendations:
According to the results of the current research, the following recommendations were made:
1) The need to move from the traditional method of teaching the grammatical rules based on the teacher to learner-centered learning, through the application of (Hendy`s 4Cs Model).
2) Encourage mentors and teachers to use (Hendy`s 4Cs Model) within the classroom, and train them on how to apply it, because of its many advantages that can contribute to understanding concepts and increase their academic achievement.
3) Adopting (Hendy`s 4Cs Model), before those responsible for curriculum development.
4) Conducting training courses to illustrate (Hendy`s 4Cs Model), its stages and its advantages in teaching and learning.
5) The use of (Hendy`s 4Cs Model) in teaching other branches of the Arabic language for the grade two secondary school students, and for stages and other educational materials.
6) Working to allocate more time to teach the grammatical rules for the process of teaching according to (Hendy`s 4Cs Model) of a longer time.
7) Include the copy of the teacher’s guide for the various stages of educational lessons prepared according to (Hendy`s 4Cs Model).
Ninth: Proposals:
In order to develop the teaching of Arabic grammar, the researcher proposes the following:
1) The effectiveness of using (Hendy`s 4Cs Model) in teaching rhetoric to develop some rhetorical skills.
2) Conducting a pilot study to compare the effectiveness of using (Hendy`s 4Cs Model) in the teaching of grammatical rules, and some other models on some learning outcomes in the Arabic language.
3) The effectiveness of using (Hendy`s 4Cs Model) in the development of students’ learning processes (high / low) achievement.
4) Effectiveness of using (Hendy`s 4Cs Model) in the development of higher thinking skills in teaching of some branches of the Arabic language.
