Abstract

Liver is the largest gland and chief metabolic organ of the human body possessing a unique ability to regenerate. It is play a central role in regulates many important metabolic functions.
Chemicals that cause liver injury are called hepatotoxins. These chemicals often cause subclinical injury to liver which manifest only as abnormal liver enzyme tests . One of these chemicals is fluoride Several phytomedicines (medicinal plants or herbal drugs) are now used for the prevention and treatment of various liver disorders. Grape is a fruit of good nutritional and therapeutic value and there are types of grapes color such as green, black and red grape contains some compounds that have a role in preventing the accumulation of free radicals and therefore is a good antidote to liver diseases and cancer. This study carried to investigate the effects of grape juice varities (green, red, black ) on rats treated with sodium fluoride in order to cause hepatoxicity associated with oxidative stress. Forty eight (48) adult male albino rats, Sprague drawley stain, weighing (160 ± 5g ) were used in present study. All rats were fed the basal diet for a week. Rats were divided into the flowing group : group (A): negative control group (6 rats) in this group rats was fed standard diet. group (B): (40 rats) treated with NaF10.3 mg/Kg BW/day) (hepatotoxic rats ) were divided into 7 subgroups ( 6 rats of each) according to the following : • Subgroup (B1) Control positive group ( diseased group ) and fed on basal diet. • Subgroup (B2) Rats feed on basal diet + 5μL/g body weight green white grape juice. • Subgroup (B3) Rats feed on basal diet + 10μL/g body weight green white grape juice.
