Abstract
It was a case control study including 100 children with DS to identify FTO rs17817449 genetic variant affecting obesity trait susceptibility and to assess the association of risk variant (T allele) with obesity among a group of Down obese children and Down non obese children.Conclusion:-is association between FTO rs17817449 genetic variant and obesity among a group of Down obese children and Down non obese children. -FTO rs17817449 (GT+TT), TT genotypes and triglecerides were considered independent risk factors for obesity prediction in DS children.
