Abstract The work in this thesis aims firstly to the synthesis, characterization and biological applications of new four ligands, 2-isonicotinoyl-N-phenylhydrazine-1-carboxamide (H3L1), 2-isonicotinoyl-N-phenylhydrazine-carbothioamide (H3L2), N-(2-isonicotinoylhydrazine-carbonothioyl) benzamide (H3L3) and N-benzyl-2-isonicotinoylhydrazine-1-carbothioamide (H3L4) in addition to their metal complexes. The characterization was carried out by elemental, spectral (IR, UV-Vis, NMR, Mass and ESR) and thermal analyses. Secondly, it aims to investigate the antibacterial activity of the ligands and their complexes. |
