Abstract

Egypt is a source of inspiration, culture, civilization, art and all its countries, whether north, south, east or west, but what is particularly noteworthy is an architectural icon and a masterpiece that dazzled everyone who lived there, from ancient times, the days of the pharaoh to that moment Luxor is the city of the centenary of the city of the sun or the city of the sun, known as the name of THEBES which was the capital of Egypt in the Pharaonic era, where the establishment of the city of thebes to the Fourth Dynasty in 2575 BC, and until the Middle Kingdom was not good more than a group of The simple huts, however, were used as a burial ground for the burial of the dead since the era of the ancient state and beyond and then became the capital of Egypt in the era of the family.
Luxor was known throughout the various ages with many names such as (Wast) (City of Light) (Scepter) and after the Arab conquest of Egypt called the Arabs name (Luxor), because it contains a lot of Pharaonic palaces.
He also said that Arab geographers in the Middle Ages called it the ”Luxor”, also in relation to the two great temples.
The christian influence on the place is shown early as a result of the use of Copts by the Copts as refuge from oppression.
The research included in its end the most important results reached through research and study as follows:
-The study proved that the Coptic Wooden Works in Churches and Monasteries of Luxor ,Asnea and Arment dating back to the fourth and nineteenth century and including modernity to 20th century .
- The writing on the wooden works decorated with diverse blessings , whether written in Arabic or in the Coptic , where I complained all the Coptic texts explained it was some of the Bible .
- The study proved that the most decorative plant items are used the Lotus flower.
-The study shows that the drawing of the human beings were for christ and the angels .
- The Geometrical decorations were used to be in iconostasis.
