Abstract An isolate of the biocontrol agent Trichoderma virens (named TVH3) was obtained and identified using molecular techniques. Results of antagonistic interactions between TVH3 and Fusarium oxysporum revealed that TVH3 displayed high antagonistic activity against F. oxysporum via different mechanisms such as competition, mycoparasitism and production of antimicrobial secondary metabolites including volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The antifungal activity of TVH3 culture filtrate was found to be thermal-stable and TVH3 was found to possess high natural protection against antimicrobial metabolites in F. |
