Abstract

In- service training program is a systematic acquisition of skills,rules,concepts and is one of the most important components in any organizational strategy. It represents a significant financial investment for supporting continued competence of the health care workforce. It help in keep up to dates with new developments and information, rendering of quality care,increasing staff motivation and increase ability to work independently. Also,it help in managing bad work areas , workloads, decrease staff turnover and increase job satisfaction so, it is very important to remove any barriers that prevent staff nurses to attend in- service training program.The present study aimed to study factors affecting nursing staff attendance in-service training program. The study was conducted at El- Minshawy General Hospital which affiliated to Ministry of Health and Populations. The study subject included (500) nursing staff with one years’ work experience or more and from different nursing levels. Data of the study was collected by using two structured tools . Tool I: Structured Factors Affecting Nursing Staff Attendance In-services Training Program Questionnaire. It was divided into two parts, Part I: characteristics of nursing staff . Part II: factors affecting nursing staff attendance in-service training program questionnaire.Tool II: Nursing staff opinion about benefit of attendance in- service training program questionnaire.
