المستخلص When ships are at berth, they need electrical energy.Conventionally; this energy is produced by diesel-powered generators causing emission of particulate matter such as nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide. A direct connection of the ship to the harbor energy distribution grid is not always possible because voltage and/or frequency may not match. Thus,Static Frequency Converter (SFC) system is used to achieve the frequency conversion required. This thesis presented a three phase four wire SFC with Active Front End (AFE) rectifier and isolation transformer, which is used as a shore side power supply for ships when they moored at the berth. The multi-loop Proportional Resonant (PR) controller with multiple resonant Harmonic Compensators (HCs) and capacitor current feedback is proposed for the SFC to provide rated voltage and frequency with low output impedance, in order to reduce voltage Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) when feeding nonlinear and unbalanced loads, which meets the requirements of IEC64020-3 and IEEE519 standards. The system is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK software program. A prototype of the system using DSP controller TMS320F28335 is implemented to validate the simulation results obtained. |
