Abstract Odontogenic tumors are tumors that arise from the remnants of odontogenic epithelium- and/or odontogenic ectomesenchyme from which teeth and their supporting structures originate. The epithelial/ ectomesenchymal interaction plays a critical role in determining the differentiation and growth pattern of either tissue. This study was directed to detect collagen organization, myofibroblasts’ number and microvessel density in ameloblastomas and keratocystic odontogenic tumors and determine the influence on their aggressiveness. |
