Abstract

Slipped capital femoral epiphysis is the most common disorder of the hip in adolescence, with an incidence of approximately two per 100,000 people. In this study prospectively (from 2014 to 2017) reviewed all cases record for patients with slipped capital femoral epiphysis who were operated at Bern University Hospitals (Inselspital), The youngest patient was a child 10.5 years old, the oldest was 15 years old male, with a mean age of 12.7 years, most of cases were males (14 patients) with left hip involvement. Body Mass Index (BMI) was with a mean of 25.9. Patients were followed up for a mean of 3 years.Patients were planned by pre-operative management protocol in form of full history, general and local examination. A full laboratory and radiological investigations. Pre-operatively, we recorded the Harris Hip score (HHS) with average of 69.4 points, and the Western Ontario and Mcmaster.
