Abstract This thesis consists of six chapters; Chapter 1: General introduction and literature review, which is divided into five parts: (A) - general introduction on oral hypoglycemic anti-diabetic drugs, (B) - general introduction on chemotherapeutics and anti-microbial agents, (C)- general introduction on redox reactions in pharmaceutical determination, (D) general introduction on HPLC importance and applications in pharmaceutical analysis and (E) literature review on the studied drugs. Chapter 2: Development and application of bromometric method for estimation of Glibenclamde, Gliclazide, Glimepiride and Pioglitazone hydrochloride in bulk and tablet formulations. Chapter 3: Spectrophotometric determination of Glibenclamide and Glimepiride using 4-chloro-7-nitrobenzo-2-oxa-1,3-diazole(NBD-Cl) in bulk and tablets. Chapter 4: Optimization and validation of HPLC method for simultaneous estimation of Vildagliptin, Pioglitazone hydrochloride and Glimepiride in bulk and tablets. Chapter 5: Validated isocratic HPLC method for simultaneous estimation of Metronidazole, Tinidazole and Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride in bulk and tablets. Chapter 6: Validated stability study of Metronidazole, Tinidazole and Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride in bulk and tablets using a gradient HPLC method. |
