Abstract Title: “Recovery of some organic matters from resultant condensate of natural gas industry” Aim of the wok: The aim of this thesis is to study the probability to using of exhaust molecular sieves in produced water treatment and recover some oil and organic matters from produced water. The thesis consists of four chapters arranged as follow: Chapter 1: Introduction: We presented an introduction for solving a big concern in natural gas industry wastes of EMSSM and produced water disposal by reuse EMSSM in treated the produced water. Also to recoverable oil and some organic matters was extracted from produced water by using exhausted natural gas molecular sieves sorbent media before and after chemically and thermally modification to reuse recoverable sludge as a fuel. Chapter 2: literature review: We presented a literature review for the previous work in the following topics: 1) Origin of Produced Water 2) Source of Oil and Grease in wastewater 3) Produced Water Treatment management Summary 80 4) Produced Water Treatment methods 5) Adsorption treatment process 6) Types of adsorbents 7) Molecular sieve in natural gas industry 8) characterization of natural zeolites 9) Modification of natural zeolites 10) Chemical modification of zeolite with FeCl3 solutions 11) Thermal treatment of natural zeolite 12) Disposal of oily sludge Chapter 3: Materials and methods: 1- Collection of exhaust molecular sieve and produced water samples from natural gas production site 2- Exhaust molecular sieve sample modification(thermally and chemically) 3- Complete analysis, TGA and X-ray investigation were performed for the exhaust molecular sieve sample. 4- clarification of produced water by Jar test method which the most way to simulate clarification by exhaust molecular sieve 5- The following series of examinations was carry out according to the standard method of testing: Turbidity – conductivity – pH – oil& grease- total organic matter – BOD – COD – Some elements- heavy metals. 6- The Efficiency of EMSSM in dye removal 7- Calorific value of remain oily sludge. Summary 81 8- FT-IR spectrometer technique for EMSSM Chapter 4- Results and discussion: The obtained results showed that the factors affecting on removal percentage such as time, dose, pH and temperature were investigated to assess the optimum conditions for turbidity, organic matter and oil and grease removal where optimum condition for maximum removal was (pH =8 for 30 min. at 27oC) .At these conditions, it is effective in this respect the evaluation that effect of untreated, chemically treated, thermally treated EMSSM on the percentage of organic matter and oil and grease removal by it reached to (70.47%), (78.63%) and (86.81%) respectively. The structure of the exhausted natural gas molecular sieves sorbent media EMSSM obtained was clarified using elemental analysis, X-ray investigation spectral data like (EDX) and (XRD). Also, its thermal behaviour was determined by thermogravemertic analysis (TGA). The effect of time, adsorbent dose, adsorbent size play an important role in the adsorption performance results were the experiments confirmed that: - adsorption efficiency increase with rise time - adsorption efficiency increase with high adsorbent dose - adsorption efficiency increase with reduce adsorbent particle size The experimental data fitted very well to the Langmuir and Freundlich equilibrium models and according to the Langmuir Summary 82 and Freundlich model correlation coefficient R2 values 0.92, 0.99 respectively so the amount of organic matters sorbet per unit mass onto zeolite follow Freundlich isotherm . - Calorific value of remain sludge after treatment of produced water by (EMSSM) consider as solid waste can be used as source of fuel where C.V = 28385.1 KJ/ Kg, this prove remain sludge have calorific value. - FT-IR spectrometer technique for EMSSM before and after PW passing through it, where shown EMSSM absorb organic matter from PW |
