Abstract Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) have been employed by adding different functional groups. Nitric acid and sulfuric acid were used at different rates first to remove the catalyst from the carbon nanotubes and introduce the carboxylic acid groups on the surfaces of the carbon nanotubes. These carboxylic groups were used as primers for the use of carbon nanotube surfaces with thionyl chloride first and then for interaction with aminoprimidine groups prepared from different chalcones of functional groups homogenous and heterogeneous rings. The substances were 2-acetylfuran with aldehydes with the following functional groups (chloride, methyl, methoxy and hydrogen). Acetyl pyridine was also used with aldehydes with the following functional groups (chloride, methoxy and hydrogen). Finally, parafluoracetophenone was used with the following functional groups (chloride and methyl). The used chalcones and pyrimidines prepared from chalcones and carbon nanotubes were characterized by advanced analysis instruments: X-ray diffraction device - Electronized electron microscopy - Thermal decomposition - Mass spectrometer - infrared spectroscopy– UV Spectrophotometer. Finally, a multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes pyrimidine derivatives have been applied with in the solar field to determine their efficiency by using the solar simulator. |
