Abstract

The three solar dryers were situated on the roof of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Tanta, Gharbyia Governorate, which located at latitude and longitude angle of 30.49°N and 30.59°E, respectively. The solar collector systems which used in this research were stationer non-tracking. Solar collectors orientated facing south direction with proposed and 30° tilt angle in this study. The experimental work was established during April to August (2017). The aim of this study was to maximize the efficiency of solar collectors as less time dryers to dry basil plant and evaluate the modified solar dryer performance under some engineering parameters. This work focused on evaluation of some engineering parameters to maximize the thermal performance efficiency of solar dryers. Basil were dried simultaneously by both direct radiation through the transparent walls and roof of the cabinet and by the heated air from the solar collector) to evaluate the solar dryer performance using to drying the basil under some engineering parameters
