Abstract 50 random samples of farm and domestic eggs, (25 farms) and (25 domestic) were collected from different farms and markets in Sharkia Governorate, Egypt. A survey was conducted to determine the incidence of ochratoxin A by immune affinity column method and reading by VICAM fluorometer in parallel with standards of ochratoxin A. It’s evident from the obtained results that all examined farm and domestic eggs samples were contaminated with ochratoxin A by percentage of 100%. The obtained results revealed the presence of ochratoxin A with mean values of (0.240 ± 0.003 ppb) in farm eggs and (0.183 ± 0.011 ppb) in domestic eggs. The obtained results declared the presence of ochratoxin A in farm eggs with mean values of (0.384 ± 0.006 ppb) in yolk and (0.099 ± 0.002 ppb) in white. The presence of ochratoxin A in domestic eggs revealed that with mean values of (0.274 ± 0.019 ppb) in yolk and (0.094 ± 0.002 ppb) in white . All examined farm and domestic eggs samples were exceeding the permissible limits, according to Egyptian standards (2005) and European commission limits (2006) (Permissible Limit Nil). Also the United States standard (2005) (permissible limit Nil) and European commission Regulation (2001) (Permissible Limit Nil). |
