Abstract Brachioplasty is aesthetic reshaping of the upper arm, which is a surgical procedure to remove skin and fat from the upper arm, reducing skin redundancy.Numerous techniques for surgical management of upper extremity contour deformities have been described. Proper selection of the operative procedure and meticulous markings are very helpful in ensuring best placement of scars. The focus of the modifications has mainly been to improve the poor aesthetic result of scar squeal, such as retractility, healing, and widening of the scar. The remaining problems of the previous techniques reported in the literature continue to include hypertrophic scars, visible scars, postoperative residual contour deformities, residual skin ptosis, seroma, paresthesias, neuroma and patient dissatisfaction with the length and location of the scar.In this study two techniques were used for brachioplasty as liposuction assisted medial brachioplasty and liposuction assisted posterior brachioplasty.Patients were divided into 2groups: group A (7 patients) medial scar technique. group B (7 patients) posterior scar technique. |
