Abstract
The thesis consists of three main chapters. The first chapter embraces an introduction on the problems of water pollution by heavy metals and dyes, the methods of water treatment (physical, biological, and chemical), nanotechnology, nanoparticles, ZnO , Fe3O4 nanoparticles, application of nanoparticles in wastewater treatment and some aspects of the concerned dyes . It also contains a literature survey on the chemistry of nanoparticles and its application in treatment of heavy metals and dyes by different techniques. The second chapter includes the experimental part which describes the materials and instruments that have been used. The methods of preparation of zinc oxide nanocomposites, the kinetics of the removal process by batch technique, and by column separation technique. The third chapter involves the results and discussion. It is divided into five parts.
