Abstract

The main objective of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of blog based activities on enhancing the overall writing performance of third year Basic English major.To be more specific, the current study addressed the following questions: - What is the effect of using blogs on students’ writing performance? This main question can be divided into the following: a) What is the effect of using blogs on students’ writing in terms of content? b) What is the effect of using blogs on students’ writing in terms of organization? c) What is the effect of using blogs on students’ writing in terms of sing blogs on students’ writing in terms of students’ use of vocabulary?This study was conducted on one group (N= 31) whose members had to take pre and post tests before and after the treatment to stand on the level of their writing performance. This program lasted for 13 weeks Study instruments included two pre and post tests, a revision checklist and an interview. Then, the SPSS statistics was used for analyzing the data obtained and identifying the differences between the pre and post tests. Finally, the results were analyzed and discussed.
