Abstract

Despite high prevalence, recanalization of CTO has been reported to be attempted in only a minority of the patients undergoing PCI. This is due to technical and procedural complexities of this lesion subtype, and the clinical uncertainties with regard to which patients benefit from revascularization.Successful recanalization of CTO lesions in patients with viable myocardium not only facilitates reducing angina symptoms,avoid bypass surgery and decrease incidence of myocardial infarction, but also may improve long-term survival.A detailed comprehensive assessment for CTO arteries has become very important before PCI revascularization. Non invasive imaging techniques, including Multi detector Computed Tomography, had been developed and well documented in many studies, it is provide more accurate information in the assessment of chronic total Occlusion lesion compared with the traditional coronary angiography.The aim of our work is to study the diagnostic value of multisilce CT coronary angiography and it is impact on the outcome of percutaneous coronary interventions in patients with CTO.In Our Study, we enrolled 40 patients who were confirmed to have at least one native coronary artery CTO.Which were divided into two groups the first group,included 20 patients underwent evaluation of the totally occluded segment with MSCT-CA, with detailed assessment of occlusion length, amount of calcification, proximal and distal cap, course of the vessel and calculation of (KCCT, CT RETRACTOR and JCTO SCOREs) before a trial of percutaneous intervention on this vessel.
