Abstract

Optimum conditions must be provided in animal housing systems for higher productivity under controlled environmental conditions using the available natural resources and sustainable under the circumstances of Egypt. So, ventilation systems become necessary to reduce the heat load to avoid those problems. It is preferable to use a natural ventilation system to decrease consumption of energy and preserve the environment from damage caused by environmental control means, which use fossil energy.
The results can be summarized as follows:
1- Modified Trombe Wall (MTW) ventilation system achieved the greated ventilation rate over Trombe Wall (TW) and regular ventilation system without Trombe Wall, where the highest rates were (295); (218) and (153) time per hour when using the MTW ventilation; the TW ventilation and vents ventilation without TW, respectively at (2 p.m., Sept. ).
2- MTW ventilation decreased temperatures inside the model by 7oC compared to outside temperatures; whereas the maximum differences for TW was 5oC compared with natural ventilation achieved 2 oC.
3- MTW ventilation system achieved the greater ventilation rate over Trombe Wall (TW) and regular ventilation system without Trombe Wall, where the highest rates were (0.014); (0.01) and (0.007) m3/s when using the MTW ventilation; the TW ventilation and vents ventilation without TW, respectively at (2 p.m., Sept. ).
The results of theoretical Study for Trombe wall system at rabbit house indicated that
1- Ventilation with TW decreases the heat stress by average thermal efficiency 20.7 %.
2- Ventilation with TW decreases the heat stored by average rate 50 kW; whereas ventilation without TW decreases the heat stored by average rate 0.6 kW.
3-Ventilation with TW increases the heat ventilated by average rate 60 kW; whereas ventilation without TW decreases the heat ventilated by average rate 2.4 kW.
4- With an external temperature of 34°C, the internal temperature of house with TW was about 27°C and relative humidity above 80%; despite that, the absence of stress conditions was detected (THI<27.8).
RECOMMENDATIONS
As for future work, it is recommended to use a natural ventilation system using a Trombe Wall (TW) to substitute solar energy for a significant portion of the mechanical energy and save production cost.
The components of a TW can be modified by selecting material parts to increase the efficiency of the heat storage as well as to increase the absorption of solar radiation and lack of heat stored.
