Abstract Introduction: Growing evidence indicates that Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a27-kDa polypeptide that belongs to the neurotrophin family binding with high-affinity protein kinase receptors (Trk) and the unselective p75NGFR receptor. The BDNF gene has a complex structure with multiple regulatory elements and four promoters that are differentially expressed in central or peripheral tissue. Aim of the Work: The aim of this study is to detect of FF neutrophin level in different types of infertility and using it as a predictor for ovarian response. Patients and Methods: This cross sectional study was carried out in Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital assisted reproductive technology unit (ART unit) in the period from (Septemper 2016 to June 2017). Results: Our study had been conducted on 120 women with primary infertility. Who were candidates for IVF-ET in ART unit of Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital. Conclusion: FF-BDNF measurement on the d-(OPU) of ICSI cycle in women with different types of infertility, had positive correlation with ovarian response and positive prediction of pregnancy rate this indirectly reflects the ovarian reserve. Recommendations: We do recommend that each follicular fluid aspirate should have a sample for BDNF. This will help in anticepating the sucsses rate and the need of any extra measure. Further study on serum BDNF in comparsion to FF-BDNF to justifiy the possiability of making use of its serum detection.
