Abstract
This study examines the processes by which Arabic speakers’ students acquire the English passive voice constructions. This topic draws the attention of many researchers due to its complexity and neglect in spoken language and due to the less use of passive voice in Arabic language and how this would affect its use in the passive voice in English language that depends greatly on its use especially in the academic and scientific writings. This study sheds light on the difference between the use of passive in Arabic and its use in English, and how this difference would affect the learners’ acquisition of the passive voice.
