Abstract The present study dealt with the different physical parameters for some electrolytes and their complexes in different solutions like association constant, formation constants, solubilites and thermodynamic parameters. The obtained results can be summarized as follow: 1- All association parameters KA, K3 and GA for ball milled CuSO4 are less than that of using bulk CuSO4 alone in MeOH – H2O media and at different temperatures. 2- The association parameters for ball milled CuSO4 are decreased with increase of MeOH percentage due to the increase in dissociation parameters KD and 3- Generally the association thermodynamic parameters KA , K3 and GA are greater on using ball milled CoSO4 than bulk CoSO4 in 20% & 40% V/V DMF- H2O mixtures due to more solute – solvent interaction. 4- Endothermic (positive enthalpies) and spontaneous (positive entropies) solvation were observed for both bulk and ball milled CuSO4 in mixed MeOH – H2O solvents. 5- All the association thermodynamic parameters KA ,K3 and GA for all salts used are greater in presence of ligands methyl red (MR) in case of< CuSO4 and (H2L) in case of CoSO4 in all media. 6- Two types of stoichiometric complexes are formed by the interaction of bulk CuSO4 & ball milled CuSO4 with methyl red (MR) in mixed MeOH – H2O solvent 1 : 2 and 1 : 1 (metal / ligand). 7- 1 : 1 (metal / ligand) complexes have greater complex formation data than 1 : 2 (metal / ligand) indicating the case of their formation. 8- The redox behavior of CuBr2 solution were studied by cyclic voltammetry in 0.1 M KCl giving three reduction waves and two oxidation peaks. 9- Complexes were formed by adding methyl red (MR) to CuBr2 due to their shift in potential and current observed. 10- Also complexes in solutions were detected by interaction of methyl red (MR) with gallium chloride in 0.1 M KCl by cyclic voltammetry. |
