Abstract
The aim of the current study was to investigate the therapeutic role of panax
ginseng extract on submandibular salivary gland of STZ-induced diabetic Albino
rats through:
1- Measuring blood glucose level.
2- Histological analysis using haematoxyline and eosin stain (H&E).
3- Histomorphometric analysis of seromucous acini number/μm².
4- Immunohistochemical analysis using caspase-3 antibody.
5- Image analysis measuring area percentage of immunostained sections.
6- Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assessment of
relative expression of RAGE gene mRNA.
7- Statistical analysis using ANOVA.
