Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the role of soluble programmed deah-1protien in immunopathogenisis of immune thrombocytopenic purpura. This study was carried out on 60 patients with immune thrombocytopenic purpura and 30 apparently healthy subjects as control. Patients were selected from in and outpatient clinics of pediatric and internal medicine departments of El-Minia University Hospital. Patients included in the study were diagnosed as primary ITP according to the criteria of International Working group (IWG) consensus report, mainly based on excluding other diseases causing thrombocytopenia such as autoimmune diseases. The patients included in the study were subdivided into two groups according to the duration of the disease: group I: It included 30 patients (9 males and 21 females) of newly diagnosed ITP. group II: It included 30 patients (17 males and 13 females) of chronic ITP. group III (control group): Thirty apparently healthy control subjects (16 males and14 females). Patient and control group were subjected to: Careful history taking and clinical examinations Laboratory investigations including:- l- Routine laboratory investigations: •Complete Blood Count. •Prothrombin time and concentration. •Renal function tests. •Liver function tests. •Erythrocyte sedimentation rate. •Viral markers. |
