Abstract This study was conducted as an observational cross-sectional study to evaluate the urinary C- peptide /creatinine ratio as non-invasive diagnostic test among diabetic patients type1. Patients were recruited from Pediatric Outpatient Clinic of Suez Canal University Hospital. Lab work was performed at Clinical Pathology Departments of Suez Canal University Hospital. This study involved 47 patients. Males represented 44.7%, while females represented 55.3%. The mean age was 11.96 ± 3.26Years and ranged from 4 to 17years. All patients (100%) had uncontrolled Hb A1c. Serum C- peptide ranged from 0.002 to 1.55ng/ml and had a mean of 0.069 ± 0.27 ng/ml; Urinary C- peptide ranged from 0.002 to 5.44ng/ml had a mean of 0.52 ± 1.0 ng/ml. Urinary C- peptide / Creatinine Ratio ranged from 0.00012 to 0.1574 had a mean of 0.02 ± 0.04. |
