Abstract

The findings of the study are summarized as that isolation rate of Aeromonas spp. on different selective media from different sources was (51.2%), (45.2%),(38.8%),(31.6%) on Starch ampicillin agar(SAA) , Rimler-Shotts medium(RS) , Blood ampicillin agar (BAA) and MacConkey ampicillin agar ( MAA) respectively by using pre enrichement media (alkaline pepton water).
- Aeromonas hydrophila is predominant Aeromonas spp isolates (52.31%) followed by A.sobria (31.15%), A.caviae (13.08%) and A.schubertii (3.46%) from all samples.
- Aeromonas spp. could be isolated was (107 isolates) from examined Tilapia niloticus fish, while (84 isolates) would be detected from Mugil cephalus fish. Surface samples showed the highest percentage of isolates followed by internal organs and gills.
- Out of 107 Aeromonas isolates, 52.33% of A.hydrophila could be isolated from Tilapia niloticus fish followed by A.sobria 30.84%, A.caviae 13.08% then A.schubertii 3.73%.
- Out of 84 Aeromonas isolates, 47.62% Aeromonas hydrophila could be isolated from Mugil cephalus fish samples followed by 34.52% A.sobria, 15.48% A.caviae and 2.38% A.schubertii.
- Out of 4 Aeromonas isolates 75% Aeromonas hydrophila, 25% A.sobria could be detected from Drinking tap water samples .
- No isolates ofAeromonas spp. could be detected from Botteled mineral water samples.
- Out of 60 Aeromonas isolates 56.66% of A. hydrophila followed by 26.66% of A.sobria, 11.66% of A.caviae and 5% of A.schubertii could be detected from Pond water of fish samples.
- Out of 5 Aeromonas isolates 60% A. hydrophila, 40% A.sobria could be detected from childhood diarrheal samples.
- Performing antibiotic suscetibility pattern on 48 strains , study revealed that all strains were resistant to Ampicillin, Erythromycin andSulphmethaoxazol-trimethoprim. A. hydrophila and A.caviae were resistant to rifampicin but A.sobria was sensitive to Rifampicin (41.66%) and A.schubertii (37.5%).
- All strains were highly sensitive to Ciprofloxacin, Norfloxacin, Amikacin and Gentamicin but low sensitive to rifampicin, Doxycyclin and cefotaxime.
- screening the isolates by performing Polmerase Chain reaction on 12 strains to determine the presence of 16S rRNA, and some virulence genes (hemolysin and aerolysin genes) resulting in all strains were positive to 16S rRNA gene, while aerolysin gene was positive by 83.33% and hemolysin gene was positive by 8.33%.
