Abstract The current study was carried out in Department of Anaesthesia,General surgical unit, in Tanta University Hospital, on 90 patients, ASA physical status I & II scheduled for elective inguinal hernia repair under general anaesthesia with ilioinguinal & iliohypogastric nerve block as postoperative analgesia. Patients were randomly allocated into two groups, group I (received given 2 mg/kg of 0.5% bupivacaine in the block)& group II (given 2mg/kg of 0.5% bupivacaine with ketamine 2mg/kg in the block) 45 patients each. After approval from the Local Ethical Committee and all patients had informed written consent of the study. |
