المستخلص The purpose of this chapter is to present a summary of the present study, a description of the procedures followed in its research, a presentation of the main findings, and the recommendations and proposals that may be presented. 1. Study problem: The problem of the current research was determined by the weakness and lack of cognitive achievement and practical skills of the students in the preparatory stage in the subject of home economics and can be identified in the following main question: What is the effectiveness of the use of knowledge maps in electronic courses to develop practical skills for students of the preparatory stage in the subject of home economics? It has the following sub-questions: What practical skills are required for students in the preparatory stage in the subject of home economics? What is the basis of the decision to establish the home economy electronically using cognitive maps to develop the practical skills of students in the preparatory stage? How effective use of cognitive maps in electronic courses in the development of cognitive achievement associated with the practical skills of students in the preparatory stage in the subject of home economics? How effective use of cognitive maps in electronic courses in the development of practical skills among students in the preparatory stage in the subject of home economics? 2. Study Tools: The current study tools were as follows: 1-Testology in the knowledge and concepts related to electronic courses in the field of clothing and textiles. 2-Note card to measure the practical skills of electronic modules in the field of clothing and textile 3- Study Procedures: First: The study of Arabic and foreign books and references and literature as well as research Previous studies related to the subject of the study, which dealt with both: Learning strategies, e-learning courses, e-courses for use in the development of the theoretical framework and in the preparation of cognitive maps in the electronic curriculum, the preparation of study tools and the steps to implement its procedures, as well as in order to benefit from the statistical treatments used. In interpreting the results. Second: Building a list of practical skills for middle school students in the field of home economics in light of the characteristics of the students of this stage, and the characteristics of the field of clothing and textiles in the home economy. Third: Preparation of the study tools and included the following: Note card for practical skills in the home economics of middle school students in the skills: distinction between the different types of fabrics, detail and knitting, patron design and ensure its validity to apply. Achievement test to measure the knowledge associated with practical skills in the field of clothing and textiles in the household economy, and to ensure its validity for application. Fourth: Preparation of experimental treatment materials represented in: An electronic course using cognitive maps that includes topics of clothing and textile, and designing a general map that includes the concepts and practical skills required for development of the preparatory stage students within the entire course. Preparation of the teacher’s manual and the student’s manual to teach the electronic curriculum units in the field of clothing and textile to be guided during the field application. Fifth: selection of the sample of the third grade students in a preparatory school in Cairo. Sixth: The tribal application of the two tools on the two study groups. Seventh: Teaching the units selected by the researcher using cognitive maps in the electronic curriculum and using the manual prepared for this purpose, and the control group in the manner used in schools. Eighth: The post application of the study tools. Ninth: Monitoring the results and processing them statistically. Tenth: Making recommendations and proposals. 4. Study hypotheses: The present study sought to verify the following hypotheses: 1-There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the achievement test in the clothing and textile field in favor of the students of the experimental group. 2-There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the note card for practical skills in the field of clothing and textiles in favor of the students of the experimental group. 5. Results of the study: In the light of the current procedures, I have reached the following: 1-The effectiveness of knowledge maps in electronic courses in the development of practical skills in the field of clothing and textiles for students in the preparatory stage. 2-statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control group students in the post-achievement test and its different levels in favor of the experimental group 3-There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental and control group students in the practical skills for the experimental group. 6. Recommendations of the study: In light of the results of the present study, the following recommendations can be made: 1-Conducting training courses for pre-service and in-service pre-service teachers in the use of electronic knowledge maps during teaching. 2-The need to pay attention to the development of various scientific skills through the teaching of home economics, especially modern and effective teaching strategies, including electronic knowledge maps. 3-Developing the programs of preparing the teachers of the home economy in the faculties of specific education to include various educational approaches and strategies such as electronic knowledge maps. 4-Include electronic knowledge maps in the content of books in the stages of general education. 7. Study proposals: 1-Study the effectiveness of the use of cognitive maps in the development of skills of the knowledge of students in the preparatory stage. 2-Studying the effectiveness of using electronic knowledge maps in teaching other subjects for different stages of study. 3-Study the effectiveness of the use of electronic cognitive maps in the development of conceptual comprehension and thinking of the students. 4-Study the effectiveness of a proposed program to train teachers based on electronic knowledge maps. |
