Abstract

Cardimetabolic diseases are an umbrella term for complex metabolic abnormalies that end in type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovasular diseases, which share pathophyphysiologic abnormalities including hypertention, dyslipidemia, central obesity, glycemic dysregulation and inflammation.
Insulin resistance in adipose, hepatic and muscle tissue, together with central adiposity and altered adipokines production are thought to underlie the pathology of cardiometabolic disorders. Visceral and ectopic adiposity lead to elevated free fatty acids in circulation coupled with increased secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines as interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor alpha and decreased secretion of adiponectin, a cytokine that play important roles in the modulation of inflammation, glycemia and lipid metabolism.
This thesis aims to evaluate novel biomarkers of cardiometabolic disease to tackle the difficult challenge faced by most of clinicians in early diagnosis and subsequent early interventions the studied biomarkers included apolipoprotein B, lipoprotein associated phospholipaseA2, hs-CRP, IL-6, TNF alpha, serum ferretin, transferrin saturation, and adiponetin. The study was conducted on 165 subjects diveded into 3 equal groups. , urine and blood samples were collected . The results were analysis using biostatistical methods and significance tests to verify data. Interpretations of findings and comparing with various local and international studies were done.
