Abstract

This experiment was conducted during three winter seasons; i.e, 2013/2014 , 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 ,in 9 different environments as a combination between locations and seasons (two locations in the first season ;i.., Ras Elhekma and East Barrani , four locations in the second season i.e., Ras Elhekma, Marsa Matrouh ,El Neguila and West Barrani and three locations at the third season i.e., Ras El Hekma, East Barrani and West Barrani) . Only one location in the second season ;i.e, West Barrani could sustain a significant yield of wheat, as a result of the extreme drought. Six bread wheat cultivars; i.e, Sakha 93 ,Sakha 94, Giza 168, Misr1 , Gemmiza 11 and Sids 12 were evaluated in the third season, however, only four of them; i.e.,Sakha93,Sakha 94,Sids 12 and Misr1, and Sakha 93 Giza 168,Gemmiza 11 and Misr1 were evaluated in the first and second seasons, respectively . The study was under rainfed conditions and aimed to determine the most suitable cultivar for each location. Three concentrations of CaCl2 i.e., 0,30,60 mg/L was used as seed priming treatments and their effect on wheat growth and yield was investigated.
