Abstract

The median overall survival was 8 months. The median EFS was 6 months.
In our study, there is no correlation between NLR and each of the following: - age, sex, history of smoking and history of DM.
There is no correlation between NLR and each of the following: - tumor site, tumor gross morphology, Lauren’s type, grade of differentiation, tumor stage, LVI, PNI and response to chemotherapy.
We found a significant correlation between presence of ascites and high NLR. This relation wasn’t discussed in any previous study as far as we know.
There is a significant correlation between NLR and each of the following: - overall survival and event-free survival. This is consistent with the results of previous studies worldwide.
Therefore, our study proved that the prechemotherapy NLR is a prognostic factor in Gastric cancer.
