Abstract Since 2001, subsequent editions of the ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma) guidelines have been updating the position on SLIT in HDM and grass pollen sensitization publishing updated recommendations of its use with numerous reports emphasize the need for a methodological control of research projects in order to increase their objectivity. In 2009, World Allergy Organization published the first paper on sublingual immunotherapy stated that SLIT is effective in the treatment of allergic rhinitis and asthma in children. In 2013 update of World Allergy Organization published a paper declared that grass-SLIT and HDM-SLIT can be used effectively for both allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma. |
